2023 Luncheon

Our 16th annual luncheon/silent auction “Tea with CAPC” took place on Thurs. April 20, 2023 back at the beautiful Roundhill Country Club in Alamo. The event was an enormous success, raising more funds for the Child Abuse Prevention Council than ever before.

Thank you to everyone who attended and supported us! We will see you next year!

2022 Luncheon

Our 15th annual luncheon was a great success! We were thrilled to be up and running after a 3 year hiatus of this annual fundraiser. The event took place on Thursday April 14th, 2022 at the beautiful Lafayette Park Hotel. Despite the rain, we brought the sunshine and raised an incredible amount of funds to benefit CAPC. Thank you to everyone who supported the event!

Our speakers touched on the very relevant subject of Cyber-bullying/Internet Safety. We showed two very important videos, which you can access here:

“Raise Your Voice Against Cyber-Bullying”

“Love Story”

Soul on the Screen

With another year of COVID preventing us from throwing our annual luncheon, in May of 2021 we decided to do a family drive-in movie night fundraiser instead! The event was a huge success with many families gathering at the St. Perpetua school parking lot and enjoying outdoor time with friends. Thank you to all who attended and especially to our sponsors, Chipman Movers and Alexis and Bebe Thompson!

Halloween Chalk Scene

In the midst of a global pandemic the ACAPC gals had to get creative with fundraising and came up with the idea of family chalk decorating contest. The event took place on October 24, 2020 and was a great success as many families came in costumes and enjoyed bags of treats, music and a little fun during a somewhat dismal Halloween holiday season. Special thanks to our In-Kind donors: DJ Ryan O, Ruggable.com, Zoonies Candies and Mike’s Bike’s of Walnut Creek! Thank you to everyone who came to support CAPC!

2019 Luncheon

The 15th annual luncheon/silent auction to benefit took place on Friday April 19th, 2019 at Roundhill Country Club in Alamo. We were so honored to have Kristen Cunnane, local survivor of sexual abuse and author of “Undoing Jane Doe: How I Put the Middle School Coach and Teacher Who Sexually Abused Me Behind Bars” as our speaker. She talked bravely and openly about the difficulties of trying to move on after being abused and how she struggled with depression, anxiety, and even the suicidal thoughts. She described how she was able to break her silence and eventually come forward and tell someone about her abuse. She praised programs like Speak Up Be Safe (CAPC’s child abuse prevention program) for bringing these important issues into our community’s current dialogue and for bringing awareness to the abuse that can happen anywhere, even in our safe communities. Her speech was incredibly powerful and touched so many of our guests. See below for photos of this event:
